A note from Progress Portland: below are details from the PCCEP meeting invite. What we are encouraging is every person who can possibly attend show up and voice your support for Portland Street Response. If you are not familiar with PCCEP, it is a committee mandated by a lawsuit from the US Department of Justice against the City of Portland and the Portland Police Bureau to act as a liaison between the Portland community and the Mayor’s Office, the DOJ, City Council, and the Police Bureau.
It is a unique arrangement in the Untied States and PCCEP is your conduit to having your voice heard directly to help shape the future of policing and other aspects to ensure the safety and equity of every person in Portland. PCCEP makes recommendations using input from the community and evidence-based knowledge and practices. Please join the PCCEP Mailing list or watch for events here on our page.
